Write for us
We welcome thoughtful contributions that help readers hear music with fresh attention. Proposals may explore a song or form, explain an instrument's musical role, compare recording choices, or open a window onto music history.
What makes a good pitch
Send a focused idea with a clear reader benefit: what will someone notice, understand or be able to listen for after reading? Tell us the proposed angle, the kind of piece you have in mind and why it suits Prime Music Spotlight. A distinctive question is more helpful than a broad subject such as music in general.
Care with claims
We look for original, readable work that distinguishes fact from opinion and treats artists, traditions and audiences with care. Keep claims proportionate, explain specialist terms, and avoid presenting guesses about intention as established fact. Please mention any relevant commercial or personal interests.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to send your pitch and select the editorial question option. A concise outline is enough for an initial proposal; please do not send a complete article unless it has been requested. We cannot promise publication or a response to every submission.
